Welcome to the Northern Sydney Cycling Club

We are a road cycling club based around the Thornleigh and Hornsby areas of Sydney's North Shore. We are a social and road racing club with a history dating back 70 years. We run regular criterium road races on Sundays and public holidays at Beaumont Road, Mt Ku-ring-gai and all grades are catered for. Riders must be a member of an ACF affiliated club such as ours to race. Go to the Club Info for more information.

Club members also meet for regular bunch training rides throughout the week and weekends and anyone is welcome to join in and meet other club members.

Riding in bunches is a great way to meet other cyclist, stay motivated and learn the bicycle skills neccesary to ride safely on the roads and in race situations. If you are interested in joining our cycling club then go to our Club Info memberships page for more detailed information.

NSCC Ladies Ride - Sunday Feb 19

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

On December 4 last year, NSCC held the inaugural "NSCC Ladies Ride".

An initiative thought up by the Lovely Kim Austen and the not so (visually) lovely Mr Neil Matthews to encourage more girls to get their bikes out and have a bunch ride with partners etc. or just to come and meet other girls on bikes.

The day was a huge success http://northernsydneycyclingclub.org.au/node/32820

Bobbin Head Cycle Classic

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

On Sunday the 25th of March the Rotary clubs of Ku-ring-gai and Turramurra are organising a charity ride in our backyard.

There are multiple options but the main ride is from Turramurra to Calga and back via Bobbin Head, 100km. The ride is to raise funds for two charities Lifeline–Harbour to Hawkesbury and a project to build a Hospital at Bo, Sierra Leone.

It would be great to see a large number of NSCC riders support the event and if interest is sufficient we will evaluate cancelling the current Beaumont Rd scheduled for this date.

Beauie Worlds Report Jan 22

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Rain threatened the race this morning with a 50/50 decision on running or not, finally leaning to the "lets run" decision once the rain stopped around 8:15.

With isolated rain all over the north shore the numbers were unusually big for the weather conditions.
Rain made the course super slippery and the three grades rode well to keep everyone upright.

Each grade was shortened slightly as more rain threatened the end of the race. The racing was fast and aggressive each coming down to a bunch sprint.

A small but aggressive bunch turned up for racing today keen to get their emotions fired up in preparation for the live coverage of the Australian Road Nationals later in the day.

A Grade

The racing in A was fast and Timmy "Version 2.0" Duncans return to racing has him motivated for a crack at the A Grade title.
Not without a great showing together with Andy Logan, the two boys put in strong displays on the bike. Perhaps 2 new guns to watch in 2012.

With MOITS putting up big money for the wins across all grades today, the racing was strategic and aggressive. No grades were prepared to let anything go resulting in high average speeds and a survival of the fittest style race at Beaumont Road.

With cash up for Sprint Primes many riders were keen to get their hands on some coin.

Plenty of riders turned up for a crack at the MOITS $100 WIN Prize Money
