Below is a preview, click to read the full post

On Saturday 12 hard men from the club - 3 in A grade, 8 in B grade and 1 in C grade - faced the ultimate racing challenge in Australia's toughest one-day race. The Grafton to Inverell 55th edition - 228km and 3,500 of climbing under race conditions doesn't get any harder than this. Forget sportifs, this is real racing where no prisoners are taken.

Race conditions were ideal with cool weather early and hardly any wind - perfect conditions for breaks which told the story in all three grades.

2015 NSCC Club Championships - Report and Photos

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Great day's racing in the winter sunshine for our annual club championships.

High quality racing all round across every division with Masters 1-3 proving to be the fastest bunch in mowing down Elite after one lap.....power plus with these "mature" riders. Matty Garnon showed all that tactics and strength go together.

Matt Osbourne, one of our Junior Academy graduates, got up in Elite with an impressive display of power finishing - great to see Helmut's juniors shake it up.

In Women's Elite, Queen of the Dirt Track - Briony Mattocks - took the title.

Tom Green Excels At National Cyclocross Series

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Cyclocross is becoming huge in Australia - following the trend in Europe and now North America.

Some excellent results for our younger club riders over the last few weeks continued with Tom Green taking out Round 3 & 4 of the National CX Series in Vic in the U19 category.

U19 riders started at the back of the Elite field and put some of the slower elite mens riders to the sword in both races. On Saturday Tom had a gap with one other rider in tow and was forced to do all the work for the last lap and a half before still having the strength to take the two up sprint for the win.

October 10th and 11th will see Wayne Grech and Steve Currie, from NSCC, riding 200km starting at Homebush then heading for the Richmond and Hawkesbury regions of North West Sydney.

NSCC At NSW Masters Championships

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

At this year's State Masters in Griffith, the club had 11 representatives across most grades. A couple of notable omissions this year with regular winners, Ross Hodgson and Richard Spinks, not competing; no doubt building for Nationals in September.

It was a great weekend as always with gorgeous weather - not a breath of wind - so people had to dig deep into the Book of Cycling Excuses to blame factors other than the weather for things not going their way in races.
