Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Warm temperatures and blue skies greeted a large crowd at Beauie Worlds long weekend racing. Around 80 riders signed on for 4 graded scratch races, and it was especially pleasing to see such a strong A-grade.

Good representation across many metro clubs including Manly-Warringah, Dulwich Hill, Central Coals, BiciSport, Lidcombe-Auburn, Parramatta and Peleton. NSCC thanks all those riders who made the trek to Beauie ... it certainly adds to the racing and atmosphere.

October Long Weekend - Beauie Worlds on Monday 6th October - Sydney's Premier Criterium Race

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

This October long weekend we are determined to defeat the rain gods after the past three Beauie races have been cancelled.

On Monday 6th October, the NSCC BikeBug Beauie Crit series returns to Beaumont Road with an exciting race format specifically designed for riders who are drivers not sprinters. The race format will be a grade handicap - each grade will start at different times with the aim of staying away from the higher grade, or catching the lower grade.

The handicap race format has been very popular and the past two handicaps have been won by D and C graders respectively.

NSW Masters Championships – Results Report

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

The mighty red and black peloton had 10 riders representing the club at the NSW masters championships held in Griffith over the weekend. Riders were competing across all three disciplines of road race, criterium and time trial.

While it was a long distance to travel, the event was well organised and credit to the local club and Cycling NSW for putting on a very successful championships. Every club rider over the age of 30 should seriously consider competing in state masters - apart from the intensity of the racing it's a great to get away for a weekend with your club mates.

We need 16+ Traffic Controllers to support Beauie Worlds racing ... or it does not run!

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

A few weeks back I corresponded with all NSCC members regarding the need for volunteers to be traffic controllers (TC's) to support NSCC racing at Beaumont Road. Racing at Beauie is only possible with trained and licensed TC's on the course.

Beauie is critical for us to have a race calendar, be financially healthy and community minded. No volunteers, then no race.

The present group of TC's have been doing a great job, however the more helping hands we have, the more the workload is spread (i.e. 2-3 times a year).

A man on a mission for Edgar’s Mission - Tai's story

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Saturday the 9th of August. That would be the day. The day I choose to ride 8848m in elevation to help raise money for Edgar’s Mission.

Edgar’s Mission is a not for profit farm sanctuary that has a very warm place in my heart. Although based in the foot hills of the Great Dividing Range in Victoria, the loving and kind work of Pam Ahern (founder of Edgar’s Mission) has reached the hearts of many people all over the nation. Her dedication, her passion and her love for these animals is simply inspiring.
