The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.

Come Rain or Shine:
I'll be there, no matter what the weather.
Meeting Point:

Hornsby Post Office (Opposite Hornsby Pool)

Show on Google maps: Meeting point. Login or register to get directions.

This is a social fundraising ride.
We will leave the Post Office and head off down the Pacific Highway to the Harbour Bridge then on to Sydney Park, St Peters (by 6.00am)for the official Start.
Stops will be made at Loftus Oval for coffee and muffins and Thomas Dalton Park, Fairy Meadow for morning tea. Some riders will then ride home while the smarter ones will be catching the train back to Hornsby.

There is a team called NSCC NOrthern Sydney Cycling Club open to join
It gives us a better chance at a group start (if we are hassled about it)
A bit of fundraising $50+ wouldn't hurt either.

•Not to try and “game” the organisers with a ride thru.
•Start 04:30 sharp at Hornsby Westside PO for Tempe Start Location arrival around 05:55
•Go as one NSCC Kitted group

We have some riders given 06:00 start time [like Sean], who want to leave Hornsby at 04:30
Others [like me] have 06:30 start and would otherwise leave at 04:45
But ideally we’d should be one group.
I’d suggest we all go at 04:30 which puts us a Tempe Recreation Reserve Start location just around 05:55
(based on last year’s ride times and no stops along the way).

TEMPE RECREATION RESERVE is Start location this year, about 5 mins further ride that previous years.
They are not publishing any further detail – looks like they don’t want Riders to “game” their controls
Or maybe security reasons.
But they look to be controlling the riders more tightly with only one entrance to the “larger start chute”
Riding along Princes Hwy to the Start, I anticipate we may be directed by Police to turn left into Holbeach Ave. to loop around into the Start Chute.
So chances of being able to ride thru Start, or even by-passing it altogether are pretty slim.

Guys the weather reports suggest some rain is inevitable and winds will start SE 15-20kmh then ease into the morning. So I'm putting on the mudguards.
The 4:30 starters will probably arrive in Gong's Lang Park Finish Village from 09:15 to 10:00.
I suggested to my Mrs (who's driving down to collect me, I am so blessed... ) to park in one of the Woolies/Aldi/ etc. car parks off Stewart St.(the blocks between Church and Corrimal Sts). A short bike ride for us from Lang Park.
Parking around Finish Village is expected to be non-existent.

I don't plan to ride tomorrow at all.
See you all b4 4:30 at the Westside PO
